Montech Sky Two Review – ARGB with four PWM fans

Montech has launched the Sky Two case which features a combination of Tempered Glass and Mesh panels plus four ARGB fans with proper PWM control. The starting price is £99.99 in Black, but you can also get the Sky Two in White or Blue. Wow, that sounds awesome.

In this review we are omitting the temperature test chart because the PWM hub supplied with our sample of the Sky Two was faulty. We demonstrate in our video that the fans run at full speed and make a fair amount of noise which is less than ideal for gathering test data. Running a combination of Cinebench R23 and Time Spy Stress Test gave a power draw at the wall socket of 620W, a CPU temperature of 75 degrees and a GPU temperature of 57 degrees. We are happy to say the cooling works well but require hardware that is working correctly to give a more detailed view.

Closing Thoughts

In many respects the Montech Sky Two is a conventional ATX case that uses common sense and decent design to avoid a number of fairly obvious pitfalls. Yes, it supports the current crop of enormous Nvidia RTX 40-series graphics cards and yes it has decent airflow and doesn't attempt to make air pass through tempered glass.

It is astonishing how many companies fail to see that latter point as a problem. Montech includes four ARGB PWM fans in the package and has used a neat trick to show those fans to best effect. Three of the fans rotate the ‘wrong' way and as a result all four are installed showing their hubs and ARGB lighting.

The main issue we hit with the Montech Sky Two was a faulty PWM hub that caused our fans to run at full speed. Having said that, we are confident the cooling works well in this case and you get a decent list of features and hardware at a fairly modest price.
