200 protestors appear for BART protests in SF

Anonymous helped to hold a protest yesterday evening, and it grew to around 200 people before winding down around 9pm. All stations were reopened shortly afterward.

The demonstration yesterday forced the closure of two Bay Area Rapid Transit stations close to City Hall in San Francisco. BART police had opened the stations just after 6pm but as more people appeared they were forced to close and reopen them several times. The trains were reportedly still in operation, but people had to take a cab, or walk to other stations for boarding according to the LA Times.

The opbart facebook page highlights some information regarding the protest, including video footage of arrests.

The protests were initiated due to two fatal shootings by officers as well as BART shutting off phone services to help stop a protest on August 11th.

Kitguru says: Another peaceful protest, according to reports.
