HMV lays off 60 at head office

Following on from yesterday’s story that administration firm Deloitte was set to shut 66 HMV locations around the country, we now have more details on which ones those will be and we’ve just heard that as many as 60 staff at the company’s head quarters will be let go as well.

One of the administrators at Deloitte, Nick Edwards, said in a statement: “It has been necessary to consider the head office support required for the reduced store portfolio. As a result of this review, a number of redundancies at the head office have been made. This has been a difficult decision, but a necessary one in restructuring the business.”
