Mozilla release faster, safer Firefox for Android

Mozilla have released a new version of Firefox for Android which they claim is ‘smarter, faster and safer than ever before'.

The new version of the browser is said to be twice as fast as the stock browser and it starts faster than before with quicker page loading times. They have also enhanced the panning and zoom in features.

Mozilla have redesigned the user interface of Firefox for Android. There is a new Awesome screen, which is powered by Firefox Sync – this delivers a user browsing history, passwords, form data and bookmark facilities from the desktop client, saving time.

There is a new personalised home screen which holds thumbnails of the most recently visited pages, and recently closed page and tab information to help improve the overall experience.

Firefox for Android also supports Flash so people can enjoy content and games using the Adobe software. HTML5 capabilities have been added which will help drive development for the new platform.
