Cubitek Tattoo Fire Mid-Tower Case Review

Wow, this is certainly eye catching!  Even though red may not be to everyone's tastes, we actually quite like the bold colour, especially when combined with some red components!

First of all we installed our ASRock Fatal1ty Professional 990FX motherboard into the case which happens to match the colour scheme.  Unfortunately, Cubitek don't pre-install any of the motherboard stand-offs so this took at little longer than we were hoping.  But there is a reasonably large cutout in the motherboard tray for those who want to retrofit a CPU cooler.

Next we installed our NZXT Hale90 750W power supply into the system using four screws.  There is a dust filtered vent in the bottom of the case to allow airflow to the PSU but this has quite a wide weave so we doubt it will pick up all the dust.

Then we moved on to the drive bays where we installed a Samsung Spinpoint F3 1TB hard drive.  This was a very simple process, only requiring us to clip a rail on either side of the drive and slide it into place.  You'll need to bear in mind that you can only fit the drives in if the connection end is pointing towards the left panel.  This may annoy some people as it makes it much more difficult to hide the cables.

Finally we installed a AMD Radeon HD 6950 graphics card into the system.  There was only just enough room to install this card so we wouldn't recommend buying this case if you are looking at bigger graphics cards.  While there is a tool-less mechanism for securing the expansion devices, this doesn't work very effectively as it doesn't grip the items inserted into the PCI slots very tightly.
