EKWB addresses customer wishes with new D-RGB products

The use of addressable RGB products in PC builds is commonplace these days, with the majority of motherboard manufacturers choosing to implement 3-pin 5v ARGB connections into their designs. EK has listened to its customers calls for the company to integrate D-RGB into its GPU water blocks and has announced some new products.

To address the wishes of custom liquid-cooled system builders, EK Water Blocks announced it has released a new line of Quantum Vector RTX RE D-RGB water blocks for Nvidia RTX Graphics cards. The new design retains the signature EK single slot look and covers the entire PCB. The design features a new and unique cover over the block terminal to improve aesthetics with LED lighting visible from the side.

EK has made two models of the new Quantum Vector RTX RE D-RGB water blocks available to cover either reference Nvidia RTX 2080 or 2080 Ti cards. Customers have the choice of purchasing the new water blocks in either a nickel plexi or nickel acetal finish. Both designs are equipped with D-RGB addressable LEDs that are compatible with the common 3-pin 5V addressable RGB motherboard header for maximum compatibility.

For users that already have the original version of the EK Vector RE high-performance water blocks, EK has provided an upgrade kit which will equip the older models with a D-RGB addressable LED strip and terminal cover. The upgrade kit attaches to the rear of the card, EK says the installation is a quick and simple way to upgrade existing Vector RE water blocks to the latest D-RGB version. The upgrade kits come in two different colour options with either black of white “stick out” pieces.

In addition to the D-RGB water blocks and upgrade kits, EK has a new 6-Way D-RGB Splitter Cable available. The splitter cable allows users to connect up to six addressable D-RGB products to a single RGB header source and provides support for system builders to add more D-RGB into their designs. The EK D-RGB 6-Way Splitter Cable features the standard 3-pin 5V layout with male-male connector pins included in the kit.

The EK Quantum Vector RTX RE D-RGB water blocks, upgrade kits and 6-way splitter cables are available now from the EK Webshop. The new water blocks are priced starting from €146.11, the upgrade kits will cost €20.06 and the splitter cable is €8.90.

KitGuru says: It is good to see a manufacturer listening to customers opinions and upgrading products. The addition of 3-pin 5V D-RGB connections on the new designs will certainly please system builders using EKWB products in future, as it provides better compatibility with motherboards.
