Intel 14th Gen Core K-series CPUs show up in benchmark database

The first benchmark entries of Intel's new desktop lineup have begun to show up, offering enthusiasts an early peek at the upcoming Raptor Lake Refresh. Unfortunately, the user who had access to these chips only tried them on BAPCo, which doesn't give us much performance comparison data, but it does confirm specs we've previously only seen in rumours.

The entries shared by HXL only include two processors of the 14th Gen Core lineup: the Core i9-14900K and the Core i7-14700K. The former packs as many cores as the Core i9-13900K, with a total of 24 cores (8 P+16 E). However, as the rumours suggested, the latter was upgraded, now featuring 20 cores (8 P+12 E) instead of 16 cores (8 P+8 E).

Putting these processors through their paces, we see both were paired with 16GB of DDR5-4800 memory and complemented by an RTX 4090 GPU. Although the memory selection could have been better, considering these chips support DDR5-6400 natively, note that these are only preliminary benchmarks and don't represent their full performance.

As seen by the results, the Core i9-14900K is about 14% to 20% faster than the Core i7-14700K in this benchmark. However, the Core i9-13900K outperforms it.

Intel is expected to unveil the 14th Gen Core series later this year.
