Intel Raptor Lake refresh and AMD Ryzen 7000X3D revealed in leak

Intel already announced the Core i9-13900KS for 2023, but it seems it won't be the only Raptor Lake chip we'll get next year. According to reports, Intel will refresh the Raptor Lake lineup next year. Additionally, the same source claims that AMD’s Ryzen 7000X3D CPUs might be limited to 6- and 8-core CPUs.

According to ECSM_Official (via VideoCardz), we'll see the Core i9-13900KS and the Ryzen 7000X3D processors debut during H1 2023, with the Core i9 being the first to release. Apparently, AMD’s upcoming X3D processors are also on the way, sporting 6-core and 8-core Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 7 chips.

By Q2 2023, we should get the AMD A620 motherboards. After that, it will be time for the red team to launch its first AM5-based desktop APUs (DDR5-4800). From the middle of 2023 to late 2023, Intel should launch a refreshed Raptor Lake lineup with clock speed bumps. Then, in 2024, we expect to see Intel Arrow Lake and AMD Zen 5 processors.

For those wondering where Meteor Lake falls in all of this, ECSM_Official claims it will come alongside Arrow Lake. However, these will be geared towards the lower-end models (i5 and below) with their alleged 6P+16E configuration. Arrow Lake will then be aimed at the i7 and i9. So, besides core count, it seems the process node will also vary between the i5 and i7/i9 chips, whereas the first will use Intel 7 + TSMC N5/6 nodes while the second will go for TSMC N3 (desktop) and Intel 20A (mobile).

KitGuru says: In the coming years, it looks like AMD and Intel will constantly be battling for performance superiority in the mainstream segment, with releases coming one after the other. If this is all correct, this is going to be an interesting time for the CPU market.
