XFX HD6870 Black Edition Crossfire Review

To overclock the cards today we used Catalyst Control Center as we found that we didn't need to use a third party tool as the limits weren't reached.

Both cards overclocked moderately, with the first gaining 30mhz on the core and 70mhz on the memory. The second overclocked by 40mhz on the core and 50mhz on the memory.

Our final overclocked speeds, meeting the individual limits between both cards was 970mhz and 1200mhz. We decided to rerun Unigine Heaven Benchmark and 3DMark 11.

The manual overclock helps boost the scores by around 200 points, to 8775. Only a couple of hundred points behind the GTX590.

Our modest manual overclock helps to boost the frame rate scores from around 69 fps to just over 71 fps.
