Seasonic Prime PX-1600 ATX 3.0 Platinum UNBOXING

We just published our full in-depth review of the new flagship Seasonic Prime TX-1600 ATX 3.0 TITANIUM rated unit today. In this video I take a look at what you can expect from the Platinum 1600W power supply, launched today. Bear in mind these power supplies are quite expensive and targeting the high end audience – who want the best power money can buy.

In the video today I unbox the 1600W Platinum unit and show you what you get inside – alongside the cables and usual extras. The new double edged PSU tester and 90 degree adapter is certainly a worthwhile addition, especially for people building into specific cases.

Seasonic are releasing three new high end units. The SSR-1600TR2 (Titanium rated 1600w) priced at £469.99, the SSR-1300TR2 (Titanium rated 1300w) priced at £399.99 and the SSR-1600PD2 (Platinum rated 1600w) at £389.99.

KitGuru says: While these power supplies are expensive, we feel it is often a false economy skimping on the quality of power you put into your new system – sure, you likely won;t need 1600w, but remember maximum efficiency is between 40% and 60% load. We have seen black screens, BSODs due to bad power supplies, and even in worst case scenarios – motherboards and processors being destroyed. Buy once and get a good unit, instead of wasting money on bad power supplies  which will need replaced regularly – check out our power supply review index for what we feel should deserve your attention.
