Corsair MP600 Elite with Heatsink 2TB Review

CrystalDiskMark is a useful benchmark to measure the theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSDs. We are using v8.0.

The MP600 Elite with Heatsink's read result of 84.78MB/s sees it go into fourth place in our results chart and is the fastest MP600 drive we've tested to date in this test. But even more impressive is its write result of 352.99MB/s which is the fastest we've seen to date for any consumer 2TB class Gen 4 drive.

Looking at the benchmark result screens we can confirm the official Sequential figures for the drive of up to 7,000MB/s for reads and up to 6,500MB/s for writes with test results of 7,387MB/s and 6,583MB/s for reads and writes respectively.

That tested Sequential read figure of 7,387MB/s sees the drive slip into the top 10 of 2TB class Gen 4 drives tested to date.

Peak Performance profile

Using the Peak Performance profile in CrystalDiskMark 8 we could confirm the official 4K random performance of the drive. Corsair rates the 2TB drive at up to 1,000,000 IOPS for reads and up to 1,200,000 IOPS for writes. We saw a default read result of 1,018,212 IOPS while writes were faster than the official figure at 1,476,983 IOPS.

Looking at the benchmark result screens we were again able to confirm the official Sequential performance figures. Switching over to using compressible data we saw 4K random reads rise to 1,756,749 IOPS while writes fell to 1,297,622 IOPS.

Real World Profile

Using the Real World profile of CrystalDiskMark 8 we saw Sequential performance figures of 4,486MB/s for reads which was good enough to place the drive in fourth place in the results table while the write result of 6,010MB/s was the fastest we've seen to date for a 2TB Gen 4 consumer drive.
