Epic offers new incentives for PC players to use the Epic Games Store

For years now, Epic has been trying to entice users to utilise their Epic Games Store – to somewhat mixed results. Following programs such as their weekly free games; reduced store fees and much more; the storefront is now adding even more incentives – especially if you play Fortnite.

In what is yet another attempt to get more PC users to invest in the Epic Games Store, the Fortnite maker has announced a new initiative, writing:

“Starting today, when you make a purchase in Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys using Epic’s payment system globally on PC, iOS, Android, and the web, you’ll get 20% back in Epic Rewards. You can spend your rewards in Fortnite and our other games, or on the Epic Games Store when you use Epic’s payment system. These 20% rewards in Epic's games are here to stay.”

Epic Games Incentives

Though in a more limited capacity, this initiative is also extending to all Epic Games Store purchases using their payment system. From now until the 31st of August, all EGS purchases will receive 20% back in Epic Rewards – a pretty substantial increase over the typical 5% they normally offer.

Of course, as with other similar programs, this initiative is designed to give you further incentives to purchase games on the Epic Games Store – ultimately building up your library in order to make you return to the platform more often.

Still, the final result is the same, with users having their gaming money go just that extra bit further – a welcome change – especially in the wake of the most recent price hike.
