Early build of Rayman 4 leaks online with source code and level editor

After Rayman 3, Ubisoft was planning to launch a fourth game. However, due to unknown reasons, the game never released. Still, the work done on it has never been lost, and has now found its way onto the Internet.

Ubisoft's Rayman mainline series hasn't received a game for a while. The series had its fair share of spin-offs, remasters and crossovers over the years, but if we don't include Rayman Origins and Legends, the last main series release was Rayman 3 in 2003 . Ubisoft planned to release a fourth game after it, but never did. Now, an early build of the project has been leaked online.

According to RibShark (via Resetera), the early build of the game includes the source code and a level editor. Moreover, the build had some maps and mechanics that would be new to the series, like riding creatures. In a series of screenshots, you can see mobs, bosses, and various levels, including one named “Sphincter Cell”.

On Resetera and the GBATemp forums, some users have claimed that the build was first shared on 4chan. Here, some users have been reporting their findings, where they've uncovered incomplete cutscenes and a model for a new female character that would appear in the game.

Unfortunately, Rayman 4 was cancelled, so the likelihood of this version of the game ever releasing officially is slim.
