Marvel Rivals surpasses 20 million players

Marvel Rivals keep reaching new milestones, with the latest being passing the 20 million player mark just 11 days after it launched. To celebrate it, NetEase is offering an in-game spray paint.

The official Marvel Rivals X account announced the achievement and revealed a special gift for the community. Players who log in between December 20th, 2024 and January 10th, 2025, will receive a free commemorative spray to mark the occasion.

Launched on December 6th, 2024, Marvel Rivals has experienced explosive growth, reaching 10 million players within its first three days and quickly doubling that number in the following week. This success can be attributed to its blend of fast-paced 6v6 action, a diverse roster of iconic Marvel heroes and villains, and the maps inspired by the Marvel universe. From battling across Asgard and Wakanda to unleashing powerful abilities as your favourite heroes, Marvel Rivals offers a unique experience for fans of the genre and the comics.

The celebrations continue with the upcoming Winter Celebration event, launching on December 20th. This festive event will introduce a new 4v4 arcade mode called “Jeff's Winter Splash Festival,” where players take on the role of the beloved Jeff the Land Shark. Inspired by Splatoon, this mode challenges players to paint the map with Jeff's signature paint-spraying abilities. The event will also bring new outfits for several characters, including Venom, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, Magik, and, of course, Jeff himself. Jeff's new outfit will be free for all players.
