Blade & Soul Unreal Engine 4 upgrade coming to the west

It looks like NCSoft is bringing the Unreal Engine 4 upgrade to Blade & Soul worldwide after all. Initially, the UE4 upgrade was only available on a Korean server, but this summer, the developers will be bringing the new features to the full live game in the west.

This summer, the MMORPG Blade & Soul will be upgraded to Unreal Engine 4 visuals. The change in the game engine will bring improved performance, reduced lag and loading times. As you would expect, there will also be graphical upgrades, bringing new depth and clarity to the in-game visuals.

Previously, these upgrades were previewed on the Final Frontier server in Korea. That server will be closing down as the developers intend to push the full game to Unreal Engine 4 with additional enhancements.

The Unreal Engine 4 upgrade is arriving over the summer, so it is still a few months away. Other content updates coming to Blade & Soul this year include a new character class, new specialisations for existing classes, new dungeons and other new systems.
