EA Motive has been quietly working away on its Iron Man game for years now, but very little about the game has been announced so far. It would appear that the project is alive and well though, as a trailer leaked online over the weekend, giving fans their first real look at the game.
EA Motive has been quietly developing Iron Man since around 2022, but until now, it had never been shown publicly. The leaked trailer appears to have been made for internal uses rather than public showing, so it is more of a supercut of overall ideas for the game, but with little narrative substance. Still, a lot of fans were impressed by what they saw, leading to an outpour of support for the game online.
Unusually, the game’s official X account acknowledged the leak directly, posting: “Well, that didn’t go as planned, but now you know.” Beyond that, the studio isn’t ready to share more. There’s no word on when a proper trailer will arrive, nor any hint at a release window. Motive simply added “See you when we’re ready.”
The footage itself shows a large, open version of New York City, similar in scale to Insomniac’s Spider‑Man games. Iron Man can freely fly through the city, drop in on enemies and switch between grounded and aerial combat. While we're unsure how much of the leaked footage was real gameplay, it did look well-polished, and it has given me confidence that the team behind this project knows how to make a fun superhero game. I did not feel that way when we got our first look at Rocksteady's Suicide Squad, or when Square Enix's Avengers game was revealed, so things are off to a good start for Iron Man.
KitGuru Says: The leak has generated a lot of excitement, but there is still no word on when we may get our first official look at Iron Man.
