Bethesda and Xbox CEO, Asha Sharma, have begun teasing the title for the next Elder Scrolls game. Fans were given just one clue this week, the number of characters in the game’s subtitle. With just that information, fans appear to have quickly sussed out what the true title for The Elder Scrolls VI is.
Each Elder Scrolls game focuses on a different region of Tamriel, from Morrowind to Cyrodiil to Skyrim. This time around, fans believe the title will be The Elder Scrolls VI: Sentinel, a name tied to the Hammerfell region. As spotted by fans on Reddit, the employee number shown during the Starfield Direct back in 2023 appears to be a coded reference spelling out “Sentinel”, suggesting Bethesda may have teased the title years ago.
This theory aligns with long‑held expectations that Elder Scrolls VI will take place in Hammerfell, which intersects with High Rock, the area many believe was shown in the original Elder Scrolls VI teaser back in 2018. A former Bethesda developer also commented on a fan post, claiming Sentinel is indeed the name of the next Elder Scrolls game. However, Bethesda has not yet officially confirmed whether fans are correct.
For those unfamiliar, Sentinel is a major capital city within Hammerfell, making it a fitting choice for a game set in the region. With Bethesda now openly teasing the subtitle, it may not be long before we get a proper reveal.
