Gears of War Ultimate Edition and Killer Instinct coming to PC early next year

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced that it would be bringing more of its Xbox One exclusive titles over to the PC, including Gears of War: Ultimate Edition running on Direct X 12, along with its fighting game, Killer Instinct. It's been a while since we have heard anything official, but it seems like both games will be coming out early(ish) next year.

Speaking on Twitter answering a fan's question about release dates for both Gears of War and Killer Instinct on the PC, Microsoft's Phil Spencer replies saying that while dates haven't been announced yet, they won't be “too far into 2016”.

It has actually been quite a while since we have heard anything about Gears of War on the PC though we do know that it will support higher refresh rate displays, 4K textures and support Direct X 12, which should allow for better performance. If this does well, then we may see next year's Gears of War 4 also come to the PC at some point.

Killer Instinct is a bit different- it's a fighting game that launched alongside the Xbox One in order to take advantage of the new Kinect. It won't be using the Kinect on the PC though, opting for a standard gamepad control method.

KitGuru Says: I've played a lot of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on the Xbox One, so I'll be quite excited to see how it performs on the PC when it eventually comes out, especially since we have gone so many years without an entry to the series on the PC. Are there any Xbox exclusives you would like to see on the PC?
