Halo: The Master Chief Collection will have a 20GB day one patch

Halo: The Master Chief Collection is due out next month for the Xbox One but it looks like 343 Industries couldn't fit the whole game on to a 45GB Blu-ray disc and as a result, buyers will need to download a 20GB day one patch.

343 Industries announced the large day one patch on a Halo Waypoint blog post, noting that it didn't want to “cut corners” to try and cram everything on to the one disc. Additionally, the developer said that the game has officially “gone gold”, meaning that the game is ready to ship. Xbox One owners will be able to pre-download the game today ahead of its launch on the 11th of November.

You will be able to play through the campaign while the 20GB patch installs, so you won't be sitting around bored all day, in-fact, the install will give you some time to brush up on your Halo skills a little bit before heading in to the multiplayer.
