Ninja Theory co-founder leaves studio ahead of Hellblade 2 launch

Ninja Theory co-founder, writer and director, Anteem Antoniades, has left the studio, ahead of the highly anticipated launch of Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2.

This move does not immediately spell cause for concern at Ninja Theory, as the studio is filled with many creative people, many of whom are currently leading work on Hellblade 2. Anteem Antoniades had written for and directed the first Hellblade game, but has not been as involved in the development of the sequel.

Still, during his time at the company, Antoniades contributed to many great projects, including the DmC: Devil May Cry reboot, as well as titles like Enslaved: Odyssey to the West and Heavenly Sword.

It is always a shame to see a promising, small studio lose one of its biggest creatives. While an Xbox spokesperson has confirmed that Antoniades is no longer at the company, no further information has been made public at this time.

KitGuru Says: Despite this news, Ninja Theory seems to be in good hands and by most accounts, Hellblade 2 is shaping up to impress, just as the first game did more than five years ago.
