The big community-made Starfield patch is now available

Bethesda has been working on its own patches for Starfield in the weeks since its launch but as always, the community has patch plans of its own. Following on from the unofficial patches for Skyrim and Fallout 4, the Starfield Community Patch is now available for PC players.

This mod may eventually become available on Xbox, but that won't happen until Bethesda introduces official mod support and tools for Starfield. Bethesda is currently aiming at early 2024 for its Starfield mod kit release. Still, thanks to the tools already available to the public, many modders have already been able to start working on the game.

The Starfield Community Patch is now available. It is an open source project, so it belongs to the community at large and anyone can contribute to it or make adjustments as they see fit. The patch aims to fix bugs, errors and inconsistencies with the goal of improving the vanilla game experience for all players. The patch does not make any changes to the balance of the game – except in instances where a bug is causing an improper interaction in-game.

In order to install the mod, you will need the Starfield Script Extender (Steam) or an ASI Loader for the Game Pass version of the game, as well as the Nukem's Plugins enabler. You can download the patch at Nexusmods now.

KitGuru Says: I've been slowly working my way through Starfield's New Game+ over the last few weeks and still enjoying the game a lot. This patch should help fix up some lingering issues though and it will be updated over time, possibly at a faster rate than Bethesda's own patches. For now, it looks like the next major official update for the game will be the introduction of mod support in the new year.
