The Outer Worlds is finally getting a dedicated Xbox Series X/S and PS5 release

While The Outer Worlds does have a 60FPS mode on Xbox Series X via Microsoft's own FPS Boost feature, Obsidian never released a dedicated ‘next-gen' version of the game for Xbox Series X/S and PS5. That is finally changing, as a new PS5 and Xbox version of the game has now been rated.

As reported by VGC, the Taiwanese Ratings Board recently listed (and then removed) a new version of the game known as ‘The Outer Worlds: Spacer's Choice Edition'. In the platforms section shows this new version heading to current-gen consoles and PC.

Presumably, this new edition of the game will back together the base game and its two DLCs, which offer players two new quest lines to explore. The new version may also have multiple visual modes, allowing users to choose between lower resolution and higher frame rate, or a higher resolution and 30FPS gameplay.

Obsidian has not yet announced this new re-release for The Outer Worlds, but given the ratings board listing, we'd expect some official news very soon.

KitGuru Says: I've seen plenty of criticism of The Outer Worlds but personally, I loved the game from start to finish. The Outer Worlds 2 is still likely a long ways off, but hopefully we'll get an update on the sequel next year.
