Late last year, developers at Red Barrels Studio began teasing what was next for the Outlast series, with The Outlast Trials set to be an interesting departure from single-player survival horror and taking things into the multi-player co-op space. Now six months later, Outlast Trials has been properly unveiled with a full trailer.
The Outlast Trials debuted its first trailer during the PC Gaming Show over the weekend. You can see the trailer below:
The game is a four-player co-op title set in the Cold War era. You will be stuck in a secretive facility where mind control experiments are conducted. Unfortunately, we don’t get a good feel for gameplay from this trailer, but there is still plenty of time to show off more.
The Outlast Trials is currently targeting a 2021 release window, so we’ll see more in the months to come.
KitGuru Says: This could be interesting, although we’ve had quite a few horror-oriented co-op games lately, including the likes of Dead by Daylight and Resident Evil Resistance. We’ll have to wait and see how the gameplay looks.
