The Witcher 3 Remastered gets updated PC system requirements

The Witcher 3 Remastered is coming out in just one month's time, bringing overhauled graphics, new visual effects, Path Tracing and more. Due to the overhaul, the new version of the game will have a different set of PC system requirements compared to the 2015 release. Now, CD Projekt Red has revealed the new minimum and recommended system requirements for the game. 

While The Witcher 3 Remastered will look a lot better than even the next-gen upgrade from a few years ago, the game won't be eating up all your storage space. The game will require just 70GB to install, a figure that includes both of the game's original expansions. In an era where many smaller single-player games are now demanding over 100GB of storage, seeing a 70GB install is a breath of fresh air.

The new minimum PC system requirements for The Witcher 3 Remastered includes:

• OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel Core i5-8400
• RAM: 12GB
• GPU: RX 5500 XT or Arc A580 or GTX 1660

The recommended system requirements are:

• OS: Windows 11 (64-bit)
• CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600X or Intel Core i7-8700K
• RAM: 16GB
• GPU: Arc B580 or RX 6600XT or RTX 2060 Super

The Witcher 3 Remastered will launch on the 28th of September as a free upgrade for all owners of the original game across PC, Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and Nintendo Switch 2. If you never purchased the original expansions, the remaster will now give you them for free. Then, in 2027, a brand-new expansion is dropping, adding a whole new region to the game and expanding on the friendship between Geralt and Dandelion – you'll have to pay for the new expansion though.
