Valve is finally tweaking CS:GO’s hitboxes

Three years after its release, Valve is finally looking in to tweaking the hitboxes in its competitive shooter, Counter Strike: Global Offensive. This is something that has affected the game since its launch and has often been complained about by players.

For those who don't know what a hitbox is, it is the part of a character model that registers when a bullet has hit. Valve decided that it was about time to take a look at the problem after a video rose to the top of the CSGO subreddit, showing off a crouched enemy player taking no damage from bullets fired at point blank range.

In the thread, Valve employee, Matt Wood, responded saying that hitboxes were “being worked on” but there is no current release window for a patch. Counter Strike Global Offensive is one of Valve's highest selling titles, it has also made a big splash in the eSports scene.

However, the game is often plagued with hackers, some of which are even part of professional teams. Additionally, there have been a few reports of match fixing between competing tournament teams in order to profit from gambling. It is all a bit of a mess really.

KitGuru Says: As much as I like CSGO myself, it does have some glaring issues. The gun play is not nearly as accurate as it was in Source and there are quite a few hackers around, especially in the lower competitive ranks.Do any of you play a lot of Counter Strike Global Offensive?
