WB Games reportedly working on Smash Bros. style cross-over fighting game

There have been several attempts to capture the magic of Super Smash Bros. and apply that formula to other franchises. Soon, it looks like WB Games will be making its own attempt at a Smash Bros. style fighting game with crossovers with Warner Bros’ IP.

The game first appeared in rumours on Reddit, with a post that claimed the game was being worked on at NeatherRealm, the studio behind Injustice and Mortal Kombat. Some characters said to appear in the game include Shaggy from Scooby Doo, Fred Flinstone, Mad Max, Batman, Johnny Bravo and more.

The rumour gained weight when Jeff Grubb chimed in, confirming that WB is working on a “platform fighter” but it is not being developed by NetherRealm. There is no confirmation on which WB Games studio is working on this game instead.

The rumour gains a bit more weight with news that Warner Bros. applied to trademark the term “MULTIVERSUS” for use in the videogame market.
