Astro Bot to get 5 new free levels next month

In the wake of its release last year, Team Asobi have kept their game of the year-winning platformer ‘Astro Bot’ fresh with new content on a semi-regular basis. Following the last free DLC released in February, the game is set to get 5 new levels added for free next month – bringing the total number to 90.

Announced during the most recent State of Play – and expanded upon via the PlayStation Blog – Team Asobi’s studio head Nicolas Doucet officially unveiled Astro Bot’s next free update, writing:

“We are delighted to announce yet more additional content landing in Astro Bot this July 10 at 2:00pm GMT. Indeed, 5 brand new levels will make their way into the game as part of the Vicious Void Galaxy, bringing the total number of levels in Astro Bot to a whopping 90+! As with our last update, these 5 levels will require you to pull every bit of skill together to complete so hang on to your DualSense Controller and dive in!”

Speaking of the DualSense, one of the PS5’s best limited edition controllers is set to return, with “an updated version of the Astro Bot Limited Edition DualSense wireless controller…launching later this year,” featuring “a new joyful twist to the touch pad!”

Astro Bot was definitely one of the most jolly games to release in 2024, and so it is exciting to see the undisputed GOTY winner get even better with time.

KitGuru says: Are you looking forward to the new levels? What do you think the special rescue bots will be? Could the new DualSense feature animated eyes on the touchpad? Let us know down below.
