DONTNOD’s Twin Mirror release date announced

In recent years, DONTNOD has become one of the prime creators of interactive story based video games, featuring interesting concepts and emotional storytelling. While the studio is currently part way through the release of its episodic Xbox-exclusive ‘Tell Me Why’, DONTNOD has also been hard at work with another game: Twin Mirror. Originally intended to launch in 2019, Twin Mirror has now received a revised release date of the 1st of December 2020.

Though the game was originally pitched as an episodic title, Twin Mirror will now release in its entirety on the 1st of December 2020. Twin Mirror’s blurb reads as follows: “Sam Higgs was done with Basswood, West Virginia, but it seems it wasn’t done with him. When he’s coming back to Basswood, his childhood town, for his best friend’s funeral. It quickly becomes obvious that this little West Virginian city holds numerous dark secrets.”

It continues, ”The former investigative journalist will employ his deductive skills to uncover the mysteries surrounding the city and its inhabitants. Dealing with his past, Sam will be torn between his quest for truth and his desire to reconnect with relatives. Who can he really trust?”

The launch of Twin Mirror is significant, as though the studio has partnered with Bandai Namco, the game represents the first title to be self-published by DONTNOD Entertainment. Furthermore, unlike many of the studio’s previous releases, Twin Mirror supposedly will not feature any supernatural elements.

To the uninitiated, DONTNOD Entertainment are responsible for Remember Me, Life is Strange, Vampyr, Life is Strange 2, Tell Me Why, and now Twin Mirror.
