Microsoft claims PlayStation’s Project Q will “cost under $300”

As part of the ongoing Microsoft FTC situation, a whole host of details have been released regarding Microsoft, but also its competitors. According to court documents, Microsoft believes that Sony’s recently announced Project Q streaming handheld will cost under $300.

As shared by Axios’ Stephen Totilo via Twitter, part of Microsoft’s FTC documents lists in the footnotes that “Sony is also anticipated to release a handheld version of PlayStation 5 later this year for under $300.”

While Project Q is not quite a handheld PS5, it is certainly the device Microsoft is referring to. It is interesting to see that Microsoft claims to know the device’s price, especially as Sony themselves have remained entirely mute on the matter.

Of course, Microsoft is always watching Sony and vice-versa, so Microsoft’s assessment of Project Q’s price is likely correct.

That said, hopefully the handheld arrives at far less than $300. Considering the fact that it is in  many ways a DualSense with a screen slapped in the middle, hopefully Project Q is significantly cheaper than $300 when it gets its official name and price.

KitGuru says: What price do you think Project Q will end up being? Is $299 too much? How much would you pay for a handheld like Project Q? Let us know down below.
