Microsoft teases Halo Infinite ahead of Xbox showcase

Microsoft’s next generation Xbox event is nearly here. As we count down the hours until the console manufacturer unveils what it has planned for the next generation of Xbox, Microsoft has given fans an early tease at one of the most-anticipated games set to be at the event – releasing the animated cover art for Halo Infinite.

Taking to Twitter to tease the next-gen Xbox Games Showcase, the official Xbox page tweeted “See the first campaign gameplay reveal. Welcome back, Chief,” accompanied by an animated piece of cover art for Halo Infinite with Master Chief featuring front and centre.

Following this, Microsoft released the official press kit, giving fans a better (and higher resolution) look at the key art. Eagle-eyed fans noticed that Master Chief appears to be wearing some sort of grappling hook gadget on his wrist, perhaps teasing a new traversal mechanic in the game.

Though the tease doesn't give too much away, it reaffirms the fact that only the campaign mode will be shown off at the event. Furthermore, it has been made clear that Halo Infinite is (in Microsoft’s eyes) the main attraction at the event – though of course expect there to be a number of surprises. The Xbox Games Showcase will go live later today at 5pm BST, and will last for roughly an hour.
