PlayStation announces State of Play

Ever since Nintendo popularised the format, many publishers have created their own version of the console manufacturer’s ‘Nintendo Directs’. One such company is PlayStation, who have been hosting ‘State of Play’ streams for the past few years. Now, the console manufacturer has announced its next State of Play event, going live later today.

Making the announcement on its blog, PlayStation revealed that “This Thursday, a State of Play broadcast will serve up new updates and deep dives for 10 games coming to PS4 and PS5, including new game announcements and updates on some of the third-party and indie titles you last saw in June’s PS5 showcase.”

The State of Play is said to last roughly 30 minutes and though the PSVR 2 was recently announced to be in development, the company stressed that “there won’t be PlayStation hardware or business-focused updates in this show. We’re focusing on great games set to come out in the months ahead.”

This State of Play will go live later today, at 10pm GMT, and can be accessed via either YouTube or Twitch. It’s been a while since the last State of Play, and so it is exciting to see what PlayStation has planned for the show. Just some of the potential games include Horizon: Forbidden West, the God of War sequel, The Last of Us Part II: Factions, and many more.
