Rise of the Ronin includes a bunch of neat QoL features

As games have gotten increasingly complicated, we have seen certain aspects of gameplay become more of a bother than necessary. Rise of the Ronin by Team Ninja appears to be doing all it can to streamline the process of playing the game itself, adding a plethora of cool quality-of-life additions.

In a preview written by Stephen Totilo via GameFile ahead of the game’s 22nd of March release, Team Ninja appear to have implemented a notable number of cool quality of life features within Rise of the Ronin, making the studio’s first open world title a more seamless experience.

Just some of the neatest QoL additions include the option for automated loot disposal below a level of your choosing; the ability to adjust the game frame-by-frame in its photo mode and auto-skipping of all cutscenes upon viewing them once.

In terms of traversal, your horse companion can of course be called at any time, but more interestingly will not require you manually mount the animal – sort of a half-step between Elden Ring and most open-world games.

Additionally, you can have the horse automatically ride to a place of your choosing, letting you take a breather between encounters.

While none of these are life changing, it is always encouraging to see devs trying out new ways to make gaming that much more fun and intuitive.
