Running out of date games? automatic updating software now available

UK game retail outlet GAME have announced the launch of a new service which has been designed to update all PC games – they are calling it Game Downloader.

The program is still in a beta state however they are offering it for free through their official website over here.

How does it work? It is simple, it scans your installed programs to see which games you have installed and stores the data in a user profile which it then checks against an online database to see if your games are out of date and need patched.

As well as this rather cool option, the software also allows for a remote download facility which lets the end user download demos, videos and other relevant content to their home PC from anywhere in the world. The interface is also customisable to let people source updates and indie game information on categories they might find interesting.

โ€œWeโ€™re continuing to enhance the customer experience through digital services and GAME Downloader is an example of how we can add value and engage more closely with gamers who shop for discs and downloads,โ€ said Game's Paul Howes.
