The Beatles sell 5 million songs and 1 million albums on iTunes

It took a long time to get The Beatles songs on iTunes, but boy was it worth the wait. Since their material arrived on the Apple store on November 16th 2010 sales have been incredible.

They sold two million songs and 450,000 albums in the first week alone, but latest reports from iTunes show that 5 million songs and 1 million albums have been sold in 3 months.

The top selling song was one penned by George Harrison “Here Comes The Sun” and the biggest selling album is ‘Abbey Road’. Considering this music was originally released over 40 years ago, it certainly appears that The Beatles are meeting a whole new digital friendly audience.
