Facebook hit a milestone – 500 million users

Facebook are due to announce that they have managed to achieve a user base of 500 million users. This prediction was originally set earlier in the year when analysts judged that in 2010 they would hit half a billion users.

Interestingly they have launched Facebook Stories – a ‘visual memorial' to the ways that the site has changed peoples lives for the better. This will sort user submitted stories by location and theme. So far we have heard that themes will be based around things such as ‘finding love' – highlighting the point that Facebook has been a great place for people to find a partner.
