The OnePlus 6 might resemble the newly launched Oppo R15

OnePlus fans have already been treated to many leaks and rumours, suggesting that the company will run with an iPhone X-style notch on its next flagship. Now, with the release of the Oppo R15, we have our first full look at what the OnePlus 6 might look like.

Given that the two companies share the same ownership, OnePlus often takes after Oppo in its designs. The OnePlus 5 was almost identical to the Oppo R11, whereas the OnePlus 5T is uncanny to the previously released Oppo R11S. This makes the Oppo R15 our best look yet into what the OnePlus 6 might end up looking like.

2018 has no shortage of iPhone X clones, with many Android-based manufacturers adopting the trend. The Oppo R15 is one of them, sporting a smaller notch than its Apple counterpart, which is also expected to appear on the OnePlus 6 considering the rumoured 19:9 aspect ratio.

The Oppo R15 itself sports a 6.28-inch, 2280 x 1080 OLED panel, with bezels that aren’t quite as slim as the iPhone X. It holds a 3,450mAh battery, a MediaTek Helio P60 processor, with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage for $475 in the US.

There is a “Dream Mirror Edition” variant that comes in a little more expensive at around $520, swapping out the MediaTek Helio P60 processor for a Snapdragon 660 processor, replacing the body with ceramic casing and opting for a 16 and 20-megapixel combination for its rear dual camera instead of the standard 12 and 5-megapixel.

Of course, the OnePlus 6 will likely build upon this so it isn’t a carbon copy, and the parts that will be changed remains to be seen. The upcoming flagship is set to arrive a little later this year, but it is looking more and more certain that it will carry the divisive notch.

KitGuru Says: The specs aren’t too bad for the price, although it's likely that the components for the OnePlus 6 will differ greatly. Usually, the company contends with the best while managing to keep its prices relatively low in comparison. How do you feel about the notch? Will you be opting for the OnePlus 6 if it carries the same design as the Oppo R15?
