Apple reportedly targeting 2026 for first foldable iPhone

Samsung has been launching its own foldable smartphones for years now, leaving many to wonder what Apple's alternative will look like. The long-rumoured foldable iPhone may finally be just around the corner, with reports claiming a 2026 launch.

In recent months, The Information has been reporting that Apple is refining its foldable iPhone design. In a recent update, it is now believed that the device has moved beyond the ‘concept' phase and into proper development with supply chain partners. If true, we may well see leaks in the next few months.

Apparently, one of Apple's main design goals is to flatten out the crease that appears as the display is bending. This is something that has been criticised on the Galaxy Z Flip, although when you are looking at the device straight on, it doesn't stand out very much.

It is also claimed that Apple may have multiple foldable devices in the works, including a new MacBook-style device.

KitGuru Says: The foldable phone trend hasn't exactly taken over the market. If Apple does offer a foldable iPhone, it will have to be in addition to a more traditional model.
