Huawei’s Windows Phone 8 launch delayed

Earlier in the week we reported that Huawei was getting ready to unveil two Windows Phone 8 devices this week, however the expected press event date has come and passed. The latest reports now suggest that the mid-range Ascend W1 and flagship Ascend W2 won’t be ready until the end of the year.

The two devices from the Chinese company most regarded for delivering value for money smartphones may not be launched until a week or two from 2013. Obviously this isn’t the best time to launch a smartphone and their announcements could be overwhelmed by other devices announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in the second week of January.

KitGuru says: Huawei will be outshone by Samsung and HTC regardless and delaying their devices’ launches isn’t going to help.
