MSI is renewing its high-end laptop line-up with six new models powered by Intel's new 12th Gen Core HX laptop CPUs, SteelSeries mechanical keyboards and up to RTX 3080 Ti laptop graphics. Although, the CreatorPro X17 does offer the choice of an RTX A-series GPU instead.
The Taiwanese company is reviving the Titan series with the GT77. Looking at its casing, the first thing to pop out is the RGB light bar. Once you open the lid, you'll see the SteelSeries mechanical keyboard with Cherry MX Ultra Low Switches and per-key RGB lighting. If you had to disassemble it, you would see MSI's exclusive Cooler Boost Titan technology, comprising of four fans, seven heat pipes and a phase-change thermal pad.
When using a Core i9-12900HX / i7-12800HX and an Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti, the system can use the OverBoost technology to increase the power delivered to the CPU and GPU to 250W. The GT77 has four DDR5 memory slots and four M.2 slots (one PCIe 5.0), supporting up to 128GB of memory and 32TB of storage. For the display, there's a 17.3-inch IPS panel with 4K resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 100% coverage of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Next, we have the new Raider GE laptops: the GE77HX and GE66 HX. The former uses a 17.3-inch IPS display with a 240Hz refresh rate and 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut, while the latter comes with the world's first mass-produced QHD 240Hz OLED by Samsung Display, featuring a 0.2ms response time, DCI-P3 100% colour gamut and 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. Like the new Titan laptop, they can use the same Overboost technology, as they can pack up to a Core i9-12900HX CPU and an RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU. Each has two M.2 slots and two DDR5 memory slots and is equipped with a SteelSeries mechanical keyboard.
Then, we have the Vector series with the GP76 HX (17.3-inch) and the GP66 HX (15.6-inch). The 17.3-inch model has an IPS option with 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and another IPS option with QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. On the other hand, the 15.6-inch model only has one, an IPS panel with 240Hz refresh rate and QHD resolution. Both Vector models can feature up to a Core i9-12900HX CPU and an RTX 3080 Ti laptop GPU, allowing its Overboost technology to reach up to 250W of power. The laptops are cooled by MSI's Cooler Boost 5 technology and feature a SteelSeries mechanical keyboard. Additionally, the Vector laptops have two M.2 slots and two DDR5 memory slots each.
The CreatorPro X17 mobile workstation is the last of the bunch, packing up to a Core i9-12900HX CPU and an RTX A5500 laptop GPU. The 17.3-inch display is factory-calibrated, has 4K resolution and 120Hz refresh rate and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour spectrum. Similar to the Titan laptop, it has four DDR5 memory slots, four M.2 slots (one PCIe 5.0), and a SteelSeries mechanical keyboard.
All new MSI laptops support 2.5GbE, Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi 6E. To learn more about these laptops, watch the “MSIology: Ahead of the Curve” event, scheduled for June 6th at 10:00 AM PT (18:00 BST).
