Ultrabook prices set to drop by up to 30% by April

Prices of the Ultrabook are expected to drop by up to 30% by April. The information has came from sources close to channel partners initially released on Digitimes. We checked with our sources in Taipei in this morning and several people in the industry confirmed that the reason is due to the release of the upcoming Ivy Bridge platform.

Digitimes add that mainstream notebooks and desktops featuring Intel Core i5 and i7 processors will also have a chance of dropping to a lower price point. Intel have a lot riding on the success of the UltraBook platform and it has been one of their key focus points in the last year.

Kitguru says: Dropping prices are always good to see.
