Battlefield Hardline delayed until 2015

Shortly after the game's beta ended, it has been announced that Battlefield Hardline will no longer launch this year. This game will now come out in early 2015 instead, giving Visceral Games and DICE more time to work on stability, story depth and “multiplayer innovation”.

EA had already published a list of changes coming to the game after going through all of the feedback from the beta. These changes included reducing the number of explosions, increasing vehicle health, re balancing the mechanic class and making changes to the game HUD.

In addition to the announcement of the delay, the blog post also outlines what Visceral and DICE are going to do with this extra time:

Multiplayer Innovation: “We’re going to be adding some new feature ideas direct from the community that will evolve the cops and criminals fantasy into a truly unique Battlefield Multiplayer experience.”

Story Depth: “In order to ensure our Single Player experience delivers on player expectations, we’re spending more time polishing our core features, as well as adding a few new ones that will support a deeper “crime revenge” story experience.”

In addition to story and multiplayer changes, the game will receive some bug and stability fixes: “This has been a focus for our team since day one and we’re going to be using the extra time to continue to optimize the game for a stable launch. We have learned a lot from Battlefield 4, are continuing to learn from our Community Test Environment and will learn more from another Hardline beta. More time allows us to surface issues that the team can attempt to fix prior to launch.”

KitGuru Says: It's nice to see Visceral and DICE take a more transparent approach to this game's development and its upcoming changes. Hopefully Battlefield Hardline will have a stable launch and make up for all of the problems that came with Battlefield 4. What do you guys think of this?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
