Turok: Dinosaur Hunter gets native current-gen upgrade alongside new content

For years now, Night Dive Studios have been one of the premiere teams to go to for authentic remasters of classic games. In a welcome announcement, the studio has shadow dropped a massive update to Turok: Dinosaur Hunter, bringing native PS5 and Xbox Series X|S support alongside a ton of new features.

Making the announcement, the team at Night Dive Studios wrote: “ Grab your controllers and get ready to rock… with Turok: Dinosaur Hunter. Now available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5! That’s not all! Turok: Dinosaur Hunter has been updated on all platforms with new features, menu options, bug fixes, and improvements.”

The full list of changes is rather extensive and covers everything from massive additions to small bug fixes, but some of the most notable features include:

  • Support for high refresh rates
  • Improved gamepad functionality and vibration support
  • New restored cut content
  • Restored Gallery cheat code
  • New menu options including:
    • Look Smoothing, SouthPaw (Swap Sticks), Enable Vibration and Intensity, DeadZones
    • Radial Fog, Player Shadow, Enable Walk Toggle, Enable Change Ammo
    • Head bobbing options
    • New graphics options including anti-aliasing

As mentioned, the full patch notes can be found HERE, but it is highly welcome to see such an extensive update be released, not only adding native current-gen console support but also bringing tons of quality-of-life features to all players.

Hopefully we see similar upgrades to Night Dive’s other remasters.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
