How did you nerd out this Christmas?

Christmas is a time for hanging out with families, drinking and eating too much and more often than not, breaking out a game or two. Usually these are simple affairs like Scrabble, Monopoly or perhaps something without a board and dice, like charades. However, this being a site of tech enthusiasts, gamers, and nerds, it wouldn't surprise me if there weren't some slightly deeper gaming going on among the Kitguru masses this holiday season.

For example, I picked up this fun little game from the Mrs this year:

ankh
You know it's good because the rule book is more than 10 pages long

I haven't been lucky enough to get a full game in yet – there's only so much time between food and wet kisses from ageing relatives to play games in – but it's looking to be about the most geekified present I received this year and I'm looking forward to checking it out.

But I can't be the only one that's had a good scratch of his nerd-itch this Christmas. What about the rest of you?

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
