Gigabyte launch Intel H81 Series motherboards

Earlier today Gigabyte announced its latest range of 8 series motherboards based on the Intel H81 Chipset in both ATX and Micro-ATX form factors.

These motherboards are set to arrive fully loaded with All Solid Caps, Low RDS(on) MOSFETs and Gigabyte's DualBIOS™.

The Gigabyte H81-D3.

More surprising is the news that these boards will come equipped with 4K Ultra HD support using Intel's IGP.

Pricing for these motherboards is not yet available, though we can expect them to fall in line with Gigabyte's current offerings.

KitGuru says: It will be interesting to see if an IGP can handle a 4K display. If it works well, Gigabyte could have a winner on their hands with the Micro-ATX boards in the Media Centre arena.
