Astro Bot update brings new levels, PS5 Pro support and more

Since its release back in September of last year, Team Asobi have kept Astro Bot fresh with new levels, speed run challenges and more. Following a teaser for new content during a recent PlayStation Tournaments event, Team Asobi have now officially announced and released their first update for Astro Bot in 2025 – bringing 5 new levels; special bots; PS5 Pro support and more.

Making the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, Team Asobi Director Nicolas Doucet officially detailed the latest update for Astro Bot, writing:

“To start the year on a good note, we are delighted to announce new Astro Bot content is coming starting today. You might have noticed that a, yet unreleased, level of Astro Bot was featured at the PlayStation XP Tournament Final in London, England on January 18. That very level, along with 4 additional ones will be coming your way inside the brand-new Vicious Void Galaxy, starting today.”

As with prior updates, each new level will be released on a weekly basis, with the first (Tick-Tock Shock) available right now, and each successive level unlocking on the following Thursdays up until the 13th of March.

Unlike the previous update from late last year, this new set of challenges are said to feature “harder levels to test your jumping skills,” which can then be replayed through the Time Attack mode upon completion.

Last but not least, this update brings with it PS5 Pro support. While exact details remain light, the team have promised that “owners of the PS5 Pro will be able to enjoy an improved version of Astro Bot featuring a constant best resolution while still running at 60 frames per second.”

Given the fact that Astro Bot ran at a dynamic 4K on PS5 with the resolution dropping to 1440p when necessary, hopefully this PS5 Pro patch allows for a flawless 4K60fps experience.

KitGuru says: What do you think of this latest update? Will you check out the new levels each week or wait until they are all released? Would you have liked to see a 120fps mode on PS5 Pro? Let us know down below.

KitGuru Games: Predicting the Next Half a Decade of Call of Duty Releases

Benjamin Franklin (1706-1790) famously once said: “The three absolutes in life are death, taxes and a new Call of Duty coming out every single year”. Sure enough, the US founding father has yet to be proven wrong, with Activision and a dozen studios having ensured that come the tail-end of any given year, there will be a new COD ready to release. And so, what can we expect from the franchise later this year? What about 2027, 2028 or even 2030? By looking back at the past two decades of Call of Duty games, their trends, progression and regression, I believe I can predict the next 5 years worth of annual COD entries.
