Blockbuster customers love the Xbox One

Well at least somebody does and at least somebody is shopping in Blockbuster.

It's more than that thought, as Blockbuster pre-order records have been shattered by those laying down cash for an Xbox One, despite the console not hitting the shelves until much later this year. MCV has a statement from head of games at the film rental firm, James Morton, who said: “We are delighted by the huge number of pre orders that we have received so far for the new Microsoft console.”Taking the opportunity to talk up the firm that has been parodied for its dinosaur like adaptation to contemporary media consumption, he continued: “At Blockbuster, we have a fantastic array of adrenaline-fuelled console games for sale or rental. Our expert staff know gaming and they know consoles and these pre-orders are testament to our customers’ trust in us as a leading gaming retailer.”

“With Sony releasing the PS4 in the near future,” Morton continued, “the next few months are going to be an exciting time for our staff and customers at Blockbuster and we can’t wait to hear more details from both Sony and Microsoft at the E3 Expo next month.”

KitGuru Says: Now granted, to pre-order an Xbox One at Blockbuster it only costs £20, but it's quite a gamble, since Blockbuster may not even be around by the time the Xbox One is released.

With rumours claiming that Sony has reversed-course on bringing more single-player titles to PC, PlayStation’s CEO has now officially commented on the matter.
