Intel Core Ultra 200 processors won’t be affected by “Vmin Shift Instability issue”

Intel has issued an update on its investigation into 13th and 14th Gen Core series instability issues. Just a few days before the debut of the Core Ultra 200 series, Intel has confirmed that the upcoming processors (Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake) won't be affected by the instability issue that Intel calls “Vmin Shift Instability”.

Intel plans to issue another update by the end of next month. It's worth mentioning that the company plans to debut Arrow Lake by October 17th, so by the time of this publication, there should be more comprehensive information from this months-long inquiry.

Intel has verified that this vulnerability doesn't affect the 12th Generation Core “Alder Lake” series, including mobile and desktop variations. Furthermore, the 13th and 14th Generation Core series in the i5 and i3 tiers, particularly the non-K versions, are also unaffected. Lastly, Intel said that no Raptor Lake mobile CPUs are impacted, including the mobile HX series, which are effectively repurposed desktop CPUs for high-end laptops. This is particularly important, as many assumed otherwise.

Intel keeps recommending that all users of 13th and 14th Gen Core CPUs, regardless of SKU, install the latest BIOS and use Intel Default Settings.
