ASUS finally announces docking station for the Nexus 7

One of the major complaints I have about Android is the general lack of accessories available for even top tier devices. Walk into any store and there will be a plethora of iPhone and iPad related accessories. Try and find the same thing for any Android device and the range isn't nearly as large. ASUS isn't helping themselves out at all; today they announced the desktop docking station for the Nexus 7, five months after the original announcement.

Anyway, the dock is expected to cost around $40 and connects seamlessly with the tablet by using its POGO pins. Functionality includes charging and audio output through a 3.5mm jack. However, for some reason the docking station will only work if you have updated your Nexus 7 to the latest version of Android, 4.2 Jelly Bean.

KitGuru says: While it will be rather affordable, the docking station is already five months late and doesn't offer much except for offering a decent stand.
