LG announces LTE smartphone for Europe and Asia

LG has just announced their Optimus True HD LTE Android smartphone will soon be available across new markets in Europe and Asia. Countries at this stage include Germany, Portugal, Sweden, Hong Kong and Singapore. As you might expect from the plethora of buzzwords in the phone's title, it will be LG's flagship LTE device and has a 4.5 inch 1280 x 720 True HD IPS display.

The latest Optimus phone will come with a 1.5 GHz dual core processor (we're guessing a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4), and a 8 MP camera. Sadly it will be launched with Android 2.3 Gingerbread but it will “receive an upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.” LG's words, not mine.

While the press release doesn't mention much else except for the above, a bit of digging reveals a 135 gram mass, a 10.5mm thick body, a full gigabyte of RAM and a MicroSD slot to accompany the 16 GB of internal storage.

KitGuru says: While LTE is yet to truly take off in Europe, at least LG are getting prepared.
