AMD Ryzen 9 9900X takes the single-core performance crown in Geekbench 6

According to the latest benchmark results, the upcoming 12-core Ryzen 9 9900X looks quite capable in single-core workloads. In the Geekbench database, an entry of a system equipped with a Ryzen 9 9900X clocked at 5.65GHz tops the ranking with a whopping 3,400 single-core score.

The Geekbench entry shared by VideoCardz shows the Ryzen 9 9900X scoring 3401 points in the single-core test and 19,576 points in the multi-core test. The system was running Windows 11 Home and 32GB of DDR5 memory.

AMD's upcoming 12-core CPU exhibits at least a 10% performance gain over the Core i9-14900K in single-core testing while trailing behind by about 5% in multi-core workloads. Notably, the 9900X surpasses the 16-core 7950X and 7950X3D in multi-core performance. It also outshines its predecessor, the 7900X, by 16% in single-core and 10% in multi-core efficiency.

Note that the provided benchmark results are currently limited to Geekbench, and it remains uncertain if any PBO-enabled features were utilized during testing. The Ryzen 9000 series is scheduled to release on July 31st.
